Clinical services at Second Nature Wilderness Programs center around three tasks: assessment, treatment, and preparation for the next step. Based on clinical research and practice, Second Nature therapists begin thinking about and preparing for the next step from the moment of enrollment.
Parents and families are strongly encouraged to enlist the services of an Educational Consultant, who is an expert in out-of-home placement referrals, to ensure that the child's specific needs are matched to the appropriate aftercare setting. Home, traditional or therapeutic boarding schools, emotional growth schools, residential treatment centers, family-style living environments, mentoring programs, and 12-step programs, are some of the destinations for Second Nature graduates. Your therapist will be an expert at describing optimal features and circumstances for your child’s continued success. Second Nature is committed to quality communication with parents, Educational Consultants, aftercare programs, and outside treatment professionals.
